Here’s a quick introduction on two of the major types of cannabis:
- Cannabis sativa. Sativa strains are characterized by their tall stature, longer flowering time and happy euphoric effect.
- Cannabis indica: Marihuana plants of the Indica family (e.g. Skunk, White Widow) are short stocky plants with wide leaves. They are perfectly suited for indoor growing. They produce a sedating and calming effect: the feeling of being stoned.
Many of today’s strains are crossbreds between one of the above types, displaying characteristics of both strains to varying degrees. Some are sativa dominant, in other plants the balance shifts to the Indica side.
